cake of death...

my step-father is as close to martha stewart as any man could possibly get while still maintaining a firm grasp on his masculinity. so close we call him "marty stewart".

a painter at heart, bob loves to unleash his creative talent and will nearly always jump on the opportunity to create a cake for any occasion. so when mom told bob about matt's birthday party, he was excited to offer his assistance with the cake.

evidence a:

little did we know that he was in the very initial stages of a cold - those few hours of contagiousness that precede even the first symptoms. so on wednesday, five days after the party, when allie was planning to come over to scrapbook and matt stayed home from work with a fever, i called to warn her that he was really sick and i was questionable. she laughed and said she was sick too. we figured that someone at the party the previous friday had shared their "wealth".

i went to work that morning, and told mom that all three of us were sick. she said she was feeling it too, and that bob had been sick since saturday. aHA! so, we drew the conclusion that if bob was sick saturday, he'd have been contagious friday, thus resulting in a cake that infected us all. we're all in stages of recovery now - but i was down for the count yesterday, 101.9 degree fever and everything.
